FIREHOUSE

This is a floor system designed with Fire Houses in mind but is applicable for any floor that gets high tonnage vehicle traffic weighing up to 60 tons. It's also perfect for industrial maintenance and machine shop floors. These types of applications often have very wet or slippery floor environments, this coating is designed with that in mind and is extra nonskid. This floor if contracted out would cost in the vicinity of $7-$10/sq ft. This is one of the best ways we know to do these types of heavy wear applications for longterm durability and safety. Below we go through the six steps of doing this type of floor. The important thing is to get the floor clean. This coating applied to a properly prepared floor should last 10-15+ years. Clean floor of all dirt and oil stains, apply etching solution, rinse thoroughly and let dry. For heavily soiled or poorly maintained floors grinding is recommended for best results. Repair any cracks or spalled concrete with one of our repair kits.
Then apply primer coat and let dry.

Apply thin build Ultra Epoxy and cover with 00 sand. When dry remove excess sand by brushing and vacuuming. Floor should resemble a large piece of sandpaper.

Apply high build extra thick Ultra Epoxy. Let Dry.
Then finish with a coat of Ultra Wear Urethane Epoxy Topcoat

Concrete Magicis a unique one component, fully UV stable textured system for interior or exterior concrete. ArmorTrak is not a paint it is a liquified polyurethane membrane with optional self-contained recycled rubber granules for an attractive tough textured finish. When exposed to atmospheric moisture, ArmorTrak undergoes a chemical curing process which changes it from a liquid to a tough polyurethane membrane that PERMANENTLY bonds to just about any surface even other coatings such as epoxies, enamels and more. It has excellent abrasion and chemical resistance. It is also available in a smooth version without the rubber granules. Armortrak is available in an Indoor or outdoor formulation. ArmorTrak outdoor is is UV rated to prevent fading or yellowing and is a great way to coat all marine surfaces. ArmorTop is a high quality, water-based acrylic coating that incorporates our patented Adaptive Molecular Epoxy Technology additive to increase its abrasion resistance. This kit lets you cover old ceramic, VCT or porcelain tiles including their ugly seams and grout lines. Have slippery old tiles outside, coat them with a UV rated durable coating. If you have any surface that you keep painting every year or can't afford to replace this is your answer. ArmorTop can save you thousands of dollars in replacement costs!

Works on all metal surfaces such as steel, iron, aluminum(coated or uncoated) and galvanized. Metal surfaces must be free of oil and rust prior to coating. For metal surfaces that need rust inhibiting protection use the "Anti Rust" version.

Please note that indoor and out door colors are different due to the UV rating of the outdoor version, see the two separate color charts.

Application is simple. Clean surface well, roughen up with sand paper as much as possible. Use floor buffer with black pad on floor tiles for best results. Apply special white primer and allow to dry 24 hrs. Then apply epoxy or outdoor coating. Outdoor coating requires two coats over primer. Not rated for vehicle traffic, see Concrete Magic for Driveways. To fill in indoor grout lines allow for at least 50% more product depending on depth of grout lines. Use a flat squeegee to spread epoxy over the primed tiles into grout joints. Allow to dry then roller on epoxy coating over grout joints and tile surface. Or you can fill in grout lines with a cement patch and then just apply coating as normal. For VCT Tile seams allow an additional 20% material. For heavily trafficked floors we recommend the application of the topcoat. This provides added protection against shopping cart wheels, toys, large customer volumes etc.

DRY BASEMENT EPOXY FLOOR APPLICATION IS AS FOLLOWS:

Repair cracks and divots with one of our crack repair kits then give your floor a thorough cleaning with a bucket containing our TSP cleaner and a mop. VCT Tiles must be thoroughly cleaned of any dirt or wax buildups. Let floor dry and then apply our VCT primer, primer dries to the touch in 1-2 hrs but you must allow primer to cure for a full 24 hr before applying the epoxy. Mix the three components of our self priming epoxy with the supplied mixer, do not mix all the epoxy at once, mix in 3 small batches for best results. If you want a non slip finish in areas that may get wet, mix in the included non slip additive into each batch. Then spread the epoxy evenly with the supplied squeegee and repeat with the next batch then let dry. The epoxy will self level into a solid seamless finish and your floor is ready for use in about 8 hours!

Our epoxy will never peel, crack or discolor like standard floor paints, yields the thickest, hardest high gloss porcelain like finish that's impact resistant and stain proof. Fills in small nicks and hairline cracks! This kit is suitable for even first time epoxy users!
